would the motherboard support 1600mhz ram?

I'm looking at the Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

and it doesn't state 1600 mhz ram so if I was to buy the ram would it not be supported properly and potentially not work?

And would a motherboard like this

that states it's 1666 mhz also be incompatible with 1600mhz memory?
