remove that link now for the graphics card, its against the forum rules to mention competitors.

seriously, does anyone read the rules before joining this forum?
this is happening more often with first time posters lately.....

Firstly you shouldnt post competitors links so best get it removed

To answer your question they will work together however i dont think the graphics card will be up to playing BF3

£400 for the whole system including OS,monitor, peripherals?
or just the base unit?

I currently own a LG W2261VP 22" LCD Widescreen Full HD Gaming Monitor, a EVGA nVidia GeForce GT 220 1 GB DDR3 DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card 01G-P3-1226-LR, that is all, and I'm looking for the cheapest option for a rig + keyboard/mouse to run BF3.

:)

Not sure you are going to be able to get a rig for that money to run BF3... the graphics card is 2009, doesn't even run DX11 as far as i am aware, you would need a new graphics card to run BF3 for sure! And you would need a £180-£300 graphics card and a decent CPU.

decent CPU + mobo = £150-£200
GPU = £200

Doesn't leave much for everything else! Save up some more ;)

Alright then guys, well how about in this case we say I just scrap the old graphics card and look for a whole new tower/rig that can play BF3 for the cheapest that I can get away with :)

Thanks again all

best option is save up more cash until BF3 is released, this will give you more performance for your money.

another option if you cant wait is go second hand for most of the components.

Here we go...

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI ATI Radeon HD 6850 Cyclone Power Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £124.99
1 x AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 850 "95W Edition" 3.30GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £85.99
1 x MSI 870-C45 AMD 770 Chipset (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard £45.98
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 430W V2 ATX '80 Plus' Power Supply (CMPSU-430CXUKV2) £39.98
1 x OcUK Bos Midi Tower Case - Black/Red £24.98
1 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT25664BA1339) £22.79
1 x Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1155/ 1156 / 1366) £18.98
1 x Sony DDU1681S-0B 18x DVD-ROM (Black) - OEM £12.98
Total : £391.69 (includes shipping : £12.50).

Now this really is no frills, i would go with a better motherboard and better power supply, maybe a different case but you should be set on the recommended specs with that. I would also go for an Intel i5 if you could, its a beast for gaming! and of course upgrading the graphics card is always a plus.

agree with this, get £600-£700 and that will get you a better build.

This would be much better, a nicer graphics card, motherboard compatible with Bulldozer (next AMD CPUs that will be coming out), better power supply (and the OS with a hard drive which i forgot to include the first time)

Thank you very much, this looks perfect!

You would still need an OS and a hard drive, and to be honest the motherboard will be out of date very soon, but it is still a decent build! the OS and HD you can get in the bundle here
