Thanks for your comments people

At what resolution do you game at? If you are getting good fps currently then I would wait for next gen cards to come out personally.

I was running an 8800GTX (until it died) and managed to get decent fps on pretty much all games at 1900x1200 resolutions. I am guessing you get better than that.

What resolution ?
Although, actually, would think it might be worth hanging fire for the allegedly imminent 58xx series cards....although a 4890 is appealing at around £120 !

Yeah i try to use 1900x1200 (24" widescreen monitor)
and try to run at max settings

What were you looking at getting? From what I have seen on the graphics charts the Nvidia 295 pretty much rules with the 4870x2 close behind it. which would leave me to believe that the 4870x2 is a better choice in that its 100 quid less than the 295 currently.

(although from looking at the website there is now only 1 4870x2 for sale. Does this mean that they are imminently releasing something new??).

That is the trouble with computer hardware, always something new coming, thats why i buy for now and forget tomorrow

I'd try and hold off a few months as youve got a powerful enough card now to run all games. but if your really itching to upgrade possibly a 4870X2 if your psu is upto it or a HD4890 in crossfire if your board supports it.

i am just thinking about moving on my card as well as buying a new card, i should be able to get £100 for my GX2
