Would they differ much?

4 options - is the price difference really worth it? I'll overclock, but no actual modding of the boards.

Option 1

Gigabyte DS3, e4300, 2GB £160 6400 ram (prob geil or gskill)

Option 2

Gigabyte DS3, e6300, 2GB £160 6400 ram (prob geil or gskill)

Option 3

Asus Commando, e6300, 2GB £160 6400 ram (prob geil or gskill)

Option 4

Asus Commando, e6600, 2GB £160 6400 ram (prob geil or gskill)

-----------------------

The DS3's are around £82 and the Commandos are around £142

Will be using mainly for photoshop/dreamweaver etc, little or no pc gaming at all. I would prefer to buy the cheapest possible so long as the performance difference isn't too much - so if I saved around £200 I could get a new camera or sommin :p What do you think? Would I actually notice a difference in everyday use?

No.

I'd go for option 1 which gives the most value for money. The commando is a gamer's board and probably has lots more features that you are not going to need. DS3 is cheap and solid and highly overclockable as far as I know.

As for E6300 vs E4300 debate; 4300 has higher multi so it is theoritically easier to achieve high clocks without stressing the mobo or RAM too much, besides you can also lower multi to achieve high FSB oc if you wish to.

How about this, e4300 with an Asus P5N-e SLi and Geil or team 6400 ram for about £150.

Total cost £345 ish and a Fuji S5600 camera :)

The P5N-e SLi has Async FSB and RAM speeds meaning you don't need ultra fast ram, it's a good overclocker and supports SLi.
