Would this be a good upgrade?

As the title says, (spec in sig) would the Asus ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 card be a good upgrade? Obviously I know the card is better but do you think the processor will bottleneck it a lot?

Also do you think the ASUS is a good brand to choose? It's on offer at the moment from overclockers and has a longer warranty (3 yrs).

CPU is at stock i'm not confident at overclocking as for resolution I play at 1650x1050

Would be a huge upgrade, but id get the Powercolor 1gb one seen as its only a fiver more.

It would be a good upgrade, but you'd also see an increase pairing the new 4870 with overclocking your CPU to around 3Ghz (or more if you can).

Also, overclocking isn't something to be afraid of! Look up a guide and get going (there may be one specific to your motherboard I'm not sure)

Clocking is easy and will give you a big boost as well. You will need to get a decent cooler though if you only have the stock one.
