Would this be a pointless replacement?

just securing a evga supernova GS 550w 80 gold power supply and while still trying to find a decent graphics card I found another quad system for £75 or less which has the following spec:

q8300
Coolermaster cooler (I think)
4gb ram
Fx3500 gpu
crappy 500w psu - Eagle DR-8500BTX
500gb hdd
win 7

so it's pretty much like for like to my system to an extent, however the seller told me the board is an ASRock G41M-GS which if is correct then supports twice the max memory so 8gb compared to my 4 which would be the main thing for me and could sell what I have to make the money back, but is it even worth it just for the extra 4gb option?

I only really need a graphics card even without the better power supply to be purchased to complete my system for my requirements which I could buy a decent model if I don't get the psu, but I might regret not buying it for what it is lol.

Thanks for replies.

All of this is 2nd hand stuff anyways that I have purchased and built over the last few days so I got no problem staying used, i have had so many 775 systems that wasn't for keeps over the years , but now I'm keeping one I just haven't seen any decent 775 boards cheap enough to offer more ram lol and figured having spent £4 shy of what that 'for sale' system already, replacing it with another quad system be handy and make it feel not a waste, but if it's best not to buy even if I could get it for £40-50 then I won't bother, Ideally I just need a graphics card and use the £40 for that supernova to fund it rather than buy a new psu aswell.

As for my usage? ...

Right now I'm just using it for back ups for my iPhone/iPad, sort though my files on other hdds via usb docks, YouTube, this site and other general use plus listen to music, with a hd 5450 I haven't even attempted to do any sort of gaming, but then mortal kombat X I got last week and going back to Anno 2205 is all I want I play that isn't old stuff, maybe install RB6S and the division for new updates, but my Xbox one is right next to my computer and I've been playing that more, I'm using a 22" screen that supports 1920x1080 via dvi(dvi to vga in my case as hdmi to dvi for Xbox... no hdmi port),

maybe I'll look in to creative type software stuff, but not fussed, just want a decent computer again that's capable more than web browsing lol.

::: Edit :::

as I pressed enter a guy selling a used corsair tx650 and a 5850 for £45 just got back to me, so rather than buy that evga I will buy this bundle that way if all is good it's killed 2 birds with one stone for only an additional fiver which then leaves me to just find an 8gb limit M-atx board.

i decided against that bundle and just went ahead and got the supernova anyways..

£35 in the end, but guy told me its only cheap because as its a replacement for a faulty unit its registered to him, so basically its like me buying the cx600 used and if it pops then im down money and power lol, but i have good hopes for the nova, yet to open it mind as needing to use computer.

was hoping to get the 5850 then i could at least start gaming, but figured for my budget a brand new gold rated unit wont come around often so be rude not to, though now i need a gpu still ha.

I used my 5850 until a year ago when I upgraded to a RX480 8GB. It was a great card.

However, you will need to search on the AMD site for the legacy drivers to run it.

i decided against buying another system, treated my missus and kids instead lol, however since this thread i did buy a 1gb hd 5770 Juniper which turns out to be the version that fits the mac pro of its era if not recent ones, works a treat, but being the mac version it had a stupid plate like handle, so i hack sawed that off earlier to fit in the case, finially fitted my supernova too, never had modular so did have issues setting it up, thought it was a none worker lol, would take pics, but photobucket being gay as you can see.

legacy beta driver from amd site couldnt detect hardware, so ended up installing via windows update, doing the job and saved all the headache i had trying to replace it because of that handle, not done any gaming yet as installing ubisoft, but unless someone buys my cx600 on its own i could always just sell the system as is with the cx and buy something better if i feel the need to.
