Would this be allowed... ?

I bought a PSU from OCUK as a potential replacement on behalf of a friend, however as it turned out it was not required. Would I be allowed to return it do you think ? I should add that it hasn't been opened at all - it is still sealed in the brown shipping box with my address on it as sent out by OCUK...

I'm not sure I could class this as a RMA since I haven't actually opened the box/tested/found to be faulty etc. Or am I stuck with it, and shall have to dispose of it some other way ?

You could use Distance Selling Regulations but would have to pay a restocking fee.

Why dont you try and sell it on ebay or ask around
