hey, just wondering if this set up would be any good or not.
was planning on getting
cambridge audio A1 amp
http://www.cambridgeaudio.com/summary.php?PID=31&Title=Summary
and a pair of Tannoy f1 speakers
http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/home_entertainment/tannoy/mecury_f1_custom/221326
this'll put me back around £200
couple of things im wondering, would i need a sound card for this set up?
i'll be using them for background music while working at the PC and gaming (not hardcore gaming, but i'd like to be able to distinguish left and right)
should i go with my selection or pick up a soundcard (probably a xonar) and pc speaker set? was also toying between
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-052-LG&groupid=702&catid=22&subcat=165
or a decent 2.0 or 2.1 set
main considerations are bang for buck (prefer to spend less than £200 total if possible), and because i work in the evening and night, i'm looking for good quality at lower volumes. (no ground shaking sub woofers
)
edit: forgot to mention that my current 5.1 speaker set has horrific sound fluctuations, and sound quality thats worse than my ipod headphones
