just found it on a competitors website at £260inc  , my question is who would buy this? surely a 8800gts 620mb would destroy it and they can be had for the same price and even cheaper these days, what's so good about it?

If it's the one I think then it's got 2 GPUs on one board, and works in the same way as the GX2 did.

Not sure what it's performance is like, but I think one GTS would be far less hassle at the least. It's a bit too late to be launching new Dx9 parts anyway.

na i don't think it is like the old gx2 it's only a single card:

yea i can only see that selling to people who judge graphics cards on the memory and that alone

Didn't say it looked like it, just that the principle is sorta the same. ;)

There are 2 GPUs under that heatsink, sharing the memory. In theory, that gives it double the pixel pushing power. However it's a bit too late to be launching a card like this, should have been released when the GX2 was.

Have a look for some reviews. :)

its actually very fast. It beats the 8800gts 640mb in every game (where crossfire is usable) But its power hungry and wont always work with every game.

Yes, this is a dual X1950pro GPU graphics card.
And it is very fast, but quite power hungry too.
