Hey Children! I'm planning on building my first PC and was wondering if anyone would tell me if this rig/spec or whatever would be good. Im going to use it primarily for gaming and programming, nothing to heavy like crysis mind and i'll also be watching a few films. Pretty much will this build support that, is it good any places where i can save money .. to be honest i wasn't really sure about GPU and Ram....

You could save around £20 by buying an OEM DVD RW

Those are great specs though, i'm using the same RAM in my first build

BTW, have you tried gaming on bootcamp?

You could look into using OEM DVD drives, for saving monnies. Also you may want to look into buying an OEM CPU and an aftermarket cooler if you are planning on hardcore gaming, to keep your CPU temps low as possible.
Thought about adding an extra fan to the case? You could add something like this LED fan for looks or this Sharkoon Silent Eagle 1000 for better air flow.

However these are just extras, and your build is very good as it is.

Edit: 5850 is a good recommendation, forgot to mention!

My petition on bootcamp is about 50GB and running it on a laptop results in fast over heating so i don't have the memory space nor the smoothness that i'd get from a well cooled desktop

so i changed the build a little, is there anything more i can do yo save costs?? i also have to consider buying an OS, should i also purchase the power supply now while the deals still on??

Go i3 and 5850, and maybe a nicer silent case they/you can use for future builds?

in terms of intel chips i've had bad experiences with them i.e. my new pc i got for my 16 birthday cpu melted in two day .. was a dell but none the less and i've had similar issues with others so personal preference towards amd but each to our own... on the case side any you can recommend as getting as theoretically i could get one that could last 4-5 builds... right?

The 955BE should be fine for your needs really, i doubt you will see any performance increase in games and the 955 should overclock to about 3.8GHz easy enough, costs about the same as going the i3 route and the amd should give you better performance and a better upgrade route.
