Would this be worth it?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to upgrade on a very limited budget.

From a NO COMPETITOR MENTIONING!

Intel Celeron G540
4GB DDR3 10600
MSI H61M-PS1 (G3)

I currently have
E6750
4GB DDR2
MSI P35 Mobo

Would this be worth it? I suppose the G540 is only a few % better than the E6750?

I was thinking of doing it just to get my foot on the LGA1155 route, I'm thinking I could put an i3/i5 in there at a later point when I can afford.

Should I do it?

Cheers

I guess it would be fine if you want to build a basic machine for office tasks, but it isn't much of a basis for on-going upgrades.

The pricing isn't even that keen, It'd probably be cheaper to buy the individual parts from OcUK.

Save your money and start with a better (more modern) board and a minimum 8GB of memory.

Personally, I'd not bother with such an increment. I have no firm figures to hand but I suspect it would be a dubious "upgrade"

Will you sleep @ night?

@ pryere when will people stop @ing in an inappropriate manner? What did that even mean?

what about an a6 or a8 llano and a75 motherboard? the built in igpu's are far superior to intels, plus it would be a quad vs dual
