Would this build be enough to handle...

... some decent level gaming? Eg: Overwatch @ 100+FPS, Civ 6 with nice graphics/fast AI turns, SW Squadrons. At 1440p.

- Ryzen 3600
- GTX 1660 Super
- 16gb RAM

Any recommendations on coolers (is liquid cooling necessary at this level?) and power supplies wouldbe appreciated too.

This is kind of a stop gap build to see with my own eyes what can handle my needs and is aimed at being quickly upgradable.

Cheers.

Not particularly, I've just been swayed over the past couple of weeks watching video after video and hearing Ryzen being the way to go these days. I'm not intending to build until end of Jan at the earliest so hopefully prices will level out a little! If they don't, I'm open to looking at Intel again for sure.

I am set on this monitor, though! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07SCX1JG2/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1
Not certain if it's Gsync compatible, though. I know the 1080 one is full Gsync but that one suggest FreeSync2 only... seems weird to have one size of the same monitor Gsync and the other not.

I'm with ya. I think I'm getting too hung up on it and for the price, the Omen seems to be a good pick. I know many pro OW players users the 1080 version, if not all! Not that I'm anywhere near that level, heh.

I'll definitely reconsider Intel come next month. I just put together a reasonably priced build on here with a 10600k. Much to consider!

Aye, I was under the impression Civ was more of a CPU driven game. To be honest, anything better than the tree trunk I'm currently playing it on will be a relief :D My current GPU, for example, is a 650ti...

Thanks man. I'm aiming for 1440p, though... and since posting, Cyberpunk has got me looking at the 3060ti.

... if it's ever available :D

Even if I give Cyberpunk a miss for a year or so, you reckon the 1660s would be decent enough for 1440p?
