Would this card run CoD:Mw2?

I ran COD MW on a 8800GTX but still felt hard done by, Spend more it'll be worth it & you won't regret it.

It will but on low settings & will struggle when it kicks off big style when on Multiplayer.
How much money you got ?

I just need a card which I can use in a £350 build.

I was thinking about a HD5770 But thought if I downgraded to something like this then it would be cheaper becuase I want to keep it as much under my budget as possible.

I beg to differ , i ran MW2 on this very rig but with a 8800GT 1920x1200 +x8 AF and it was very fluid in SP/MP with the details at max about 90% of the time. when i swiched back to my GTX 280 it was a bit smoother and i was able to pile on the AA as well . in short a 8800/9800GT will run MW2 just fine

So becuase this is cheaper and its going to run all the latest games out there do you reckon it's worth getting it instead of a HD5770 becuase its so much cheaper.

Can't really argue with that mate but Low is Low. Each to there own though a. :)

How much can you get the 8800GT for ?

The 5770 will run things quite a bit better (not that the 8800GT wont) and you can chuck on AA quite a bit, but it wont be a "Holy ****" sort of thing, unless your an enthusiast type who notices all the little things :D

Games simply dont require the ultra PC power thats out there these days, very few do. An 8800GT is still very much upto the job.

Ok. Thankyou. I mean a HD5770 is £120, I was only wondering if it was really worth getting it for the extra performance or can I do fine with a cheaper card.

Up to the job without a doubt but when you are building a system & judging it against a game that is Already out on an Old engine you should be able to max out whatevr you purchase or in just a few months you will be gutted.

O.P
I would push up to this card then play the game & sell it recouping a few quid & bringing the overall cost back down to a Hundred quid.

I showed you the HD 4870 the other day and you sort of shrugged it off but it really is the fastest/best value card in your price range. You won't need to upgrade for a few years, you just won't be able to play games in DX11, you'll have to play them in DX10.1. This shouldn't make too much a difference to you, the games will still look fantastic. MW2 is also DX10 by the way. You'd be able to max that game's settings with this card in DX10 and have it run smooth as silk. You wouldn't be able to do that with the GTX8800.

And yes, the HD 4870 is a lot faster than the HD 5770. It all depends on how important DX11 is to you?

Low is low? What are you on about?

I ran it at 1920x1080, 2xAA, 8xAF everything set to high on an 8800GT and got 40-80fps+. I wouldn't use one in a new system but telling people utter rubbish isn't exacty useful is it?

@ op: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-120-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1403 this offers the best performance for the money but does lack certain features of the 5770 (the card I would buy).

I'd have to second the 4870 or maybe have a search around for a second hand 260/4890.

5770 is only > than either of those 3 cards if you want DX11. :)
