Was working for a while just left it in there thinking it would be ok. Ive just noticed today it gone and melted.

Do you think it would cause my comp to lock up cuz it was ramdomley locking up hasnt so far but some times it was few hours before it did.

Yeah, it's annoying when you don't know what the problem is, it could well be that the melted cathode is shorting maybe, making the PSU unstable? Guess we will see :)

hmmm i dunno why it would cause it to lock up :S if it was any majour problem i would have thought it would have done something else eg the EVIL BSOD hehe anyway not sure just keep an eye on it :)

Ive just had so many problems ever since i brought the computer my comp seem to be ok now just the internet but i kno that the isp

If it was shorting the psu would it take a while to be unstable or would it just be unstable as soon as i tuen it on

i had a problem were one of my wires was faulghty and was shorting my psu, but mine wouldnt turn on as it just died everytime i pressed the power button.

I would expect more of a problem if it was shorting the PSU but you never know there are some wierd things that can happen.

I really dont think that is why it would lock up but theres no way of being certain. How often does it lock up? is there any specific time.program that it does this?

adsl is so poor compared to cable. or is it just d-link routers?

Bit of both i think i live in a area that all new houses so no cable down just bt lines so cant have cable. The routers they use are so cheap might have to invest in a new one just wouldnt kno what i was looking for really.
