Afternoon all,

Im about to build a new HTPC based around the Shuttle SG33G5B, a E2160 C2D, 2Gb RAM and Vista 64bit Home Premium but I have a bit of a dilemma with the graphics card. I would like to fit a passive card (ATI HD3650) in the system for a silent solution but im unsure whether I could fit the thing in there. Heres a picture of said card:

Would it fit? Also would heat be a problem as I know a Shuttle probably isnt the best environment for a passive card. Thanks.

Quick answer: no it won't fit.

if you're looking for something passive you'll need something that's either a single slot design, or where the heat is taken to the back of the card and takes the space of what would be the adjacent pci slot.

Thought as much, I take it that card will be more than comfortable in a SP35P2 then? Bare in mind there will be a wireless card in the PCI slot as well! Thanks for the reply's.

Not sure itll fit into an Sp35P2 mate, the stock cooling fan on the 8800GTS 640mb is about 1mm away from touching the PSU and the hard drive cage, so if its any wider than a stock 8800s cooling fan then youll be stuffed.

Damn, just going to go for a single slot solution with a fan then I suppose as I need the PCI slot free as well. :(

Was looking for your SP35P2 thread Stellios but I think its been deleted? :(

an 8800 gt will fit but they do get really hot when playing games for hours . so i guess it might not be a
good idea to use in a shuttle
