Would this setup bottleneck a 3870 / 8800gt ?

Simple question...can't afford to fully upgrade right now and don't see the point in being obsessive with it so sticking with socket 939. I run an opteron 165 @ 2.5ghz 24/7 and this is on a DFI Ultra-D mobo with 2gig (4x512mb of ram). Windows XP directX9.
Was just wondering if it would actually bottleneck these latest cards? I noticed in crysis demo for example, that a lot of new titles such as this are very very GPU intensive, and that cpu/ram is rarely maxxed out.

Also currently I have all of this running under an Antec 460watt PSU including 4 hard drives and an overclocked x800 GTO2. I assume this PSU would be fine if I switched to one of these newer cards as well. I never had any probs before. Has ok rails I think.

It might... But then you just turn on stuff like AA/AF and increase the resolution

Found a good article. Basically it will bottleneck in very CPU intensive games such as flight sims and older titles, but in newer stuff where GPU is rinsed out hard, especially with eye candy on and higher resolutions, it wont. Hmmm

as above 8800gt would do very well in an older rig, ive got an 8800gts 640 that spent its first few months in an a64 4000, 939 motherboard, 2 gb pc3200 rig ive had the gts for well over a year now and the new 8800gt seems like a very good card but sometime in early december nvidia are bringing out a revised version of the 8800 gts. so if you can wait and see what this new card brings into the equation
