Would this setup work ok (temporarily) with a Hiper 580W?

Hi,

I'm selling my computer to a friend and will have around £350-400 to spend on a new system.

I need:

CPU
Mobo
RAM
GPU
DVD-RW

At the moment, i have a new Hiper 580W that was replaced when my old one blew up. Now to my understanding, there problems seem to be eradicated for the most part, and has been fine powering my A64 setup since its replacement.

This is the setup i am trying to get, but i dont have any extra cash to spend yet.

The reason i'm eager to order is due to the fact that a few items are on this week only, and also the 6% off deal, meaning the above system is about £358.

What i would like to know is:

Would the Hiper 580W at least be adaquate until 4 weeks time, when i can order a Corsair 650W? Of course, i wouldnt risk overclocking or anything like that, just wondering if it would work for a few weeks!

Also, is that board ok for overclocking, or should i try and get the extra for the P5Q-E? Will be using the stock cooler for the meantime. Hoping to get 3.50ghz or thereabouts.

Thanks.! :)

Yep the hiper should b fine powering that

though why not go for the 4850 got the extra £20 itll cost you'll get a big increase in performance, if just upgraded from a 9600gt and its been a great improvment!

Ah ok. Not followed the GPU scene for a while!

Also, in regards to the finance options.

In the buy now, pay 6 months later, it says you pay 10% deposit on an order over £330 or thereabouts, then you have 6 months to pay it off, otherwise youll pay the 30% interest. Does this mean that i can pay virtually all of it off from the sale of my computer, then pay for the PSU and other bits i cant afford right now next month?

If thats the case, i may even spend a little extra and get something better (providing i got that correct). :)

don't get the 9800gt, it's an 8800gt really, which can be had for aroudn £50-60 2nd hand

get an ati 4850, they're much better bang per buck (and I own an 8800gt)

As for the Hiper, if you want to risk your rig by using it then that's up to you. The problems are not eradicated and they are still blowing up. There have been quite a few over the past couple of weeks just on this forum.

I always thought hiper hiper, was a good company, pretty expensive to.

Agreed go for a 4850 card you could even pick up a palit one(non sonic) for the same price or cheaper, If you was to do this and plan to over clock your GPU you could add in you're own heatsink etc down the line.

Ok. Decided to hold off, even if i will loose the 6% discount/T.W.O deals. Not worth the risk.

Plus it's nicer when you have a bigger order arrive :D

Thanks for your help guys. Will make a new "spec me" thread in a few weeks time. :)
