Would this solve ATI's problematic drivers?

I agree, if the company wants our money, then they better make their stuff work.

You say that as if nVidia don't have problems at times. This the whole point, it gets tiresome when people like you make blanket statements like this, as if it's fact that their stuff "doesn't work".

Are you paranoid, i took i took his post as meaning as in if anyone. Maybe the original poster can clarify?

I think he said in reference to the fact that you don't see many people gushing over how "amazing" and "great" ATi or Microsoft are, it only seems to be Apple and nVidia fanboys that say things like "I love nVidia, they're just so great", I know I've seen a few people say such a thing around here.

It's the same old regurgitated BS posts day after day, pretty tiresome tbh.

I often wonder how some of the regulars here actually find the time to use their video card for its intended purpose......

I wasn't talking about you, and I'm being serious, I have seriously seen people say this and mean it.

There are some wierd things going on with ATI drivers past 10.5 up to 10.9 though at the moment. My uncle's 5970 still quits to desktop all the time on BF2 BC2 and also the whole screen goes black on some parts of the maps. This is definitely a driver issue because as soon as I roll them back to 10.5 everything is fine!!

This isn't exclusively an ATI issue - tho they have been more problematic with BC2 than nVidia. A few nVidia users also get regular CTDs in the game along with pauses on a black screen with some multi GPU setups. Would suggest an engine problem or incompatibility with some other software.

CTD used to happen allot with BF2 for some people so its no surprise.

The reason they have one set of drivers for many cards, is down to support resource - it would simply be to expensive to work on separate versions of software. And it's not just coding, it's all the support systems and testing process that goes with this. Imagine making a fix for one card, then the process of putting the same fix in 10 other pieces of software.

The reason there are bugs (ATI and Nvidia) is there pushing the cards to the max - it's no wonder with the posts on card temp / frame rate - it's all fast paced and Nvidia and ATI are trying to outdo each other.

If ATI and Nvidia would agree to 'take it both easy' there would be plenty of time to release quality drivers free of bugs - but it's a war caused by us / review sites, so ATI and Nvidia are on the limit to get the best out of their cards quickly.

And be grateful for ATI and Nvidia - Like in all wars pace of development is fast, we would not be as moved along with consumer graphics if there was only one side playing!
