Would this work to remove arcit silver 5?

Provided that it's "just" alcohol and water then it will be fine. Avoid things like nail varnish remover as they often contain nail conditioners and other chemicals that are not (less) volatile.

Neat alcohol, neat IPA (that is NOT Indian Pale Ale..) and neat acetone all work the best.
 
artic silver often comes off pretty easily compared to some stuff you get. I can normally wipe mine off with a few wipes. pcAnywhere pretty much hit it bang on though
