The reason I chose the above motherboard is due to it having a serial+paralel port (something that I still need).

I'd suggest if you could going for the X2 4400 as it has 1mb cache and will be faster if you aren't overclocking but it is quite a bit more money. If you are willing to try overclocking then you could go for an Opteron 165 or 170 for around the same cash but they have 2mb L2 cache and ought to overclock well.

Otherwise all your parts look fine and will work well together as far as I can see. Do you have an ATX 2.0 compliant PSU? :)

Thanks - didn't know there was that much difference in speed between the 4200 and the 4400 :)

I have this PSU - Hiper HPU-4B580 Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Blue, so I hope that will be fine?
