Would this work?

Say that I had to partitions on my HDD, one for OS and other for steam games. If I re-installed the OS, would I have to re-install all my steam games or could I just copy the short cut from the other drive and put it on my desk top? Thanks.

it would work fine, although ive never tried it, but i do have a hard drive without OS on running just for steam files.
