Would this work?

I'm already building an SB 2500k system with similar bits and funds are too low to go much higher spec for this build so, would this spec work just as a second/backup computer for editing images in Photoshop and general surfing etc ? I'm more concerned with reliability than speed for this machine and won't be gaming with it.

Also, would the PSU be good enough and would I benefit much by fitting a Phenom 965?

Photoshop benchmark tells me the extra cache does help a little, however if it's worth the extra cash is up to you. The Phenom 955 is 10 quid cheaper and can be turned into the 965 by changing one setting in the BIOS.

If you look around on google you might be able to find some more in depth photoshop benchmarks.

Thanks Redmint.
I suppose the 955 would be that little bit better and it's still pretty reasonable at only £366.00!
As long as the PSU is up to it, then it should be ok! I don't think I can get anything any cheaper than that!

No (generally the AMD boards with an odd number as the 2nd number: 770 don't have onboard graphics.)

Woops!:(
I liked the one I chose because it has firewire and plenty of pcie and pci slots.
Hmmm...need to look again! Thanks for that info!
