Would you be annoyed? (email address shared)

Not a major issue but I thought it was a bit unprofessional.

Basically I ordered my dad a rental car (one of the biggest companies around), no hassle there it was fine.

However in the booking process, they divulged mine and a fair few other peoples email address in the confirmation reply, cue me getting emails from other people in that list.

Would you be annoyed at this? It isn't the biggest deal, but if they share your email address with other customers, then God knows what else they are sharing!

My main issue is the fact that I've received emails from other people. Also, this email was fairly standard for me, but there are some pretty high profile names on the list.

Maybe I should send my CV to them all.

I've been copied in on emails like this in the past from recruitment agencies by accident. Some people went ballistic in a reply to all mail about it

I wouldn't be annoyed,as its not a HUGE deal...i mean hundreds of websites and forums you register on share out your email address with other companies anyway behind your back.

However i think they should be made aware this is happening.

Might be, but might be breach of DPA, as they haven't kept your own personal information safe sand secure.

Require that data is not used in any way that may potentially cause damage or distress.
Require that their data is not used for direct marketing.
