would you be worried,i5 Chip

You're looking at one or two of the contacts which look like they been hammered.
It's not thermal paste,i tried to get a better pic but that was the best i could do.

it was working in last build, but since yesterday i changed to new mobo and case,it's not firing up.

Well if it's not working then you need to do some fault finding your end.

Maybe the grey smudge is something, maybe not.

Does your case have a tweeter you can diagnose the not firing up issue with?

Mine didn't so I nicked one from my old case and that helped find out it was my GFX that was messing me about. Your motherboard will produce a series of beeps depending on what's not joining in when the power goes on. Should say in the manual.

Will it work in the old mobo now that you know the whole setup is not working with a new mobo?

:(

sorry for the delayed reply,it was just paste; MX2, what they say that it doesn't effect if you get some on your pins, well it does.It was shorting the motherboard,i had it stripped to nothing but the cpu cooler and fans powered, the motherboard fired but i touched the H50 cooler and it cut out straight away.
I've cleaned the paste off the chip with some carburettor spray, fired it up again and it's fired up now.
Another lesson learnt, i've been having BSOD's ,been posting sometimes about the problems i've been having, even forked out for a better mobo, and in the end it was just a bit o paste,
If all's good now,i'll be relieved.:)

Had the same on one of my chips, just cleaned it off with some thermal paste remover and it was fine, glad you got it sorted.

Congrats! Now you need to do something about the mice in your case nibbling the side of your CPU before they eat something expensive :)
