Well, my 360 arrived back from MS yesterday, which was a replacement for my previous 360 which RROD on me a month ago. Busy at work, and had a bit of spare time this morning, so I thought I would hook her up, get my network and live settings sorted. I'm inputting my IP and DNS settings and then the screen goes all fuzzy and distorted. I then turn off the machine, reboot it and - yep, an RROD. I checked with a torch and it looks like the refurb I got has the heatpipe cooling. Like all my consoles, its in a well ventilated area with plenty of space, sitting on a glass shelf. Ah well, time to give MS another call I think.

This is my worst nightmare when i get my 360 back at the weekend

Im considering trading it in as soon as i get it back and buying an elite or a pro or something new. It seems that these refurbs on the whole don't last long unless your lucky
