This spec is for my brother.

He will be playing COD4 / CS / Football manager games and future fps games for the next 2-3 years....

He needs everything except for keboard/mouse/speakers and he wants a 22" LCD.

I wont be overclocking it. If i do very little !

Not sure what to go for 32 bit vista or 64 bit? whats the benefits/downsides?

Ive overspent by £40... is it worth getting the quad core? Otherwise i will go for the Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.66GHz (1333FSB) - Which will bring it to a grand total of...

£890

Ive persuaded him its worth the extra £50 lol :)

Cheers

If the comp is used for gaming, no games atm use Quad core but in 1 or 2 years time they will start to produce them, im waiting for the new quads though.

Yes i would swap the evga card for a BFG one evga is dodgy imo you must register within 30 days to get the warranty and they don't mention this in paperwork in the box or on any sites.
I went to register mine last week and that was the first i had heard of the 30 day thing doesn't mention it in the warranty info in the manual
and i am past the registering date so i only get a 1 year warranty feel very cheated, will never buy eVGA ever again because of this experience.
If you ever need to rma to them you have to ship to germany they don't even have a uk depot which is just ridiculous.

Go for BFG all the way.

actually it does state on their site if you don't register within 30 days you only receive a 1 year limited warranty.

And what happens if you don't visit their site ? and why would you visit their site until you go to register your card anyway?
I have touched on this before and i think it can be concluded the only reason this is in place is to get away with a certain amount
of warranty's i suspect i am not alone in visiting the site to register after 30 days or not even knowing about the 30 day clause until someone on here told me.
It's certainly not in any paperwork inside the box or in any product smallprint or descriptions either in the box or on sites.

Your receipt with proof of date purchased should automatically override the 30 day clause if i buy it say 11/11/07 it should give me 10 years warranty from that day forward the whole 30 day clause is there to swindle people out of their 10 year warranty.
So for this reason alone and the fact that BFG don't even require a receipt for an rma i suggest to never buy evga.

Basically evga are good if your in the usa bad if anywhere else just look what you get in europe if you try their step up program
