I would get the 8800GT but they arent in stock.

I would personally hold on for a 8800 GT, the deliveries are coming in just going very very fast when they do with OcUK at the moment.

If you place a pre-order for a BFG card or maybe a Asus type brand there should not be a huge amount of time before you would get one, but if your planning on buying one when they are in stock then you need very good timing. :D

Its well worth holding on for as the 8800 cards are the best value for money for years, since the GF4 Ti4200 cards actually in my opinion.

Ok, thanks.

The build is for a friend, who is looking at placing the order next friday. If they still out of stock he will go for the 3870 as he is very impatient.

Just hope they are in stock by then.

I'd change the cooler for a Arctic freezer 7
Buy a OEM CPU because you don't need a cooler.
Get a Corsair 620HX PSU way better than the Gigabyte
Then like everyone else says go for the 8800

Although the AF7 is an excellent cooler, its not the best out there.
After having the noctua on his last build, he wants it again, i also have it and think its an excellent, quiet cooler.
I agree with the cpu, realised the mistake after the post :)
I have heard good things about the Gigabyte PSU's and my friend who had the Corsair 620 with his last build thought the modular cables were cheap and tacky (i aggree) although a great psu.
Will get the 8800GT over the HD3870 if its available anywhere.
