Thanks guys

You need to copy and paste the BBcode at the bottom of the basket and copy it into this thread for us to see.

I'd change the RAM for a 2400Mhz kit you like the look of - with DDR4 speed makes very little difference in real world use.

The motherboard and CPU are compatible but unless you have a particular soft-spot for the Asus you could save quite a bit on a bundle deal. You lose 3 PCI x 16 slots for 2 and a few other minor features but the savings make it an attractive option.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £291.48
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Is there gonna be much of a performance decrease if I choose the cheaper board n ram you think?

This is what I would buy:-

The motherboard will do 99% of what the Hero will do and you save a large amount of cash as well. The Corsair case is quite a poor design as it depends on the psu to get rid of most of the heat. The Phanteks is much better thought out. If you really want a upside down layout case take a look at Silverstone's offerings. The memory is the same speed but much cheaper.

Thanks guys for youre help, ill go ahead and buy youre basket pasty on Wednesday then :D

I shud still get doom free aswell with that board yes?

My only concern is the case`s price, wont the build quality be a little cheap. Are you able to choose a better case upto say 100-120?

Also I bought my heatsink ages ago so I doubt I have a fitting kit lieing around. I think im just gonna have to buy a new one, are any well known for gd perfprmance you guys know of?

Cases are always a subjective choice. I've got a Corsair 760T full tower and 2 builds using the NZXT H440. The corsair feels and looks a lot cheaper than the NZXT and, if I'm honest, I probably wouldn't buy one again despite it being fine feature-wise. I would recommend the H440 in a heartbeat though, truly fantastic case to work with and looks (in my opinion) very good.

The case you have is fine feature-wise too so if you like the looks, go for it :)

Phanteks cases are in no way cheap and nasty, they are just more reasonably priced and put many much more expensive cases to shame. If anything Corsair's are overpriced due to all the hype surrounding them. Take a look at the photo's in the Phanteks product description and see how they have thought about everything such as cable management, cooling etc. They give us a hell of a lot of case for the money. Just because it's under £10 doesn't mean it's no good. If I was to pick a more expensive case it would be this or this. :D

Im struggling a little with cash n im worried that if I don't buy a cpu cooler ill then find out my arctic cooler 7 doesn't fit my cpu/board n ill have to wait another day. It was a long time ago I fitted the arctic, I don't suppose if any of you know wether ill need like one of those spacing plates for my cooler to fit my new 6600k. My old cpu is i5 760. If itll be a straight swap without needing anything which I pprobaly have lost then I may risk it. Anyone know about this please. Im also now looking at this one if I do buy because its easier to fit than the coolermaster and cheaper

Thanks guys

you do get the stock heatsink with the cpu so just buy as is try your one with it if it doesn't fit then just run the stock one until you get a replacement.

If your heatsink fits your i5 760 then it will fit the 6600k. Sockets 150/1151/1155/1156 all have the same spacing.

If you are struggling with cash then drop the more expensive case. Buying a case just because it's more expensive than another is madness. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro M that I originally posted is a excellent case. Have a read of this review.

oh you do get a stock heatsink I been trying to find the version with the heatsink.... silly me. Its also gd to hear they all have same spacing so I can definitely ditch the hs
thanks guys once again!!!
