Guys just wondering if it is worth me changing my psu. Currently using an enermax 620w modular. I have just replaced the 2 x 4870's with a gtx 295 and would like a psu with dedicated 6 and 8 pin.
I have 4 hardrives in Raid 0 & 1.
1 x WC pump
1 x cathode
Fan controller
And what's in my sig.
My PC runs fine but just conscious that it's not got enough juice or stressing it somewhat.

i wouldn't have thought you really needed a new one, if you get a second gtx then you will need a new one but aatm you should be fine

Only problem I have now guys is tidying up those cables. Due to the fact I am using the adapters that came with the EVGA gtx 295 it looks shoddy.

I could either strip out the plugs joining all the cables and braid them or find somewhere that sells an 8 pin and a 6 pin cable that runs directly to the PSU.

However I see that the 8 pin plug is powered by a splitter with 6 pin plugs and the 6 pin is powered by two molex's. I am assuming this is how its meant to be.

I was looking at the EVGA packaging today and read the following: -

This graphics card requires:

  • 680 watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 46 amps on the +12 volt rail.

Worth pondering I suppose
