I currently have my intel core i7 4790k overclocked to 4.7ghz at 1.290 volts, for 24/7 would you say this is fine if the temps are good, I'm using the h105 from corsair and during prime 95 it hasn't gone above 75 degrees. might try lower the voltage tomorrow to around 1.280 every little helps ;)

would you consider this a good chip?

If your at 4.7 with 1.29 i would try pushing it even more as you have room for more volts if the temps stay good.

I've benched it at 4.9 using 1.350 volts but crashed after half an hour of prime I think around 1.375 would do it but that's cutting it close considering I want this to last my a long long while :) as even the first gen i7s today pack a good punch when overclocked :)

Prime95 is really bad for newer CPU's apparently to almost everyone on here... I use realbench to test my CPU's... Unless of course you are constantly searching for insanely big prime numbers of course... I would use what you do on a day to day basis as your testing method, such as gaming..
I run the RealBench stress test, as it wont damage anything long term, and also gives an actual real world idea of how it will do, whether its stable or not :)

I'm using the older version of prime which is fine ;) :) I've lowered the voltage a little to 1.280 (every little helps  )
been running prime for the last hour and all is looking well maximum temps is 70 degrees (y) rather happy with this chip....
