Can't be bothered? Quick summation of the facts. PC Gamer magazine was giving away free beta codes for Planetside 2 if you bought the magazine (£5.99 I think) they didn't do the best job of hiding the code, all you had to do was open the mag and you could get the code.

One of our OCUK lovelies opened the mag, took a picture of the code and swanned out without paying, used the code thus denying someone who actually purchases the magazine access to the code.

Personally I think its a pretty scummy thing to do. It is only £5.99 but even if you are so tight as to not be able to afford the money its basically theft, you are denying someone getting access to something they have paid good money for.

I have gave up arguing the point in that thread (and please don't all steam in there and drag it off topic, it has been dragged off enough as it is

) because the guy has no remorse and thinks he has done nothing wrong.

OCUK please pass judgement (because we all love to do it

) do you think it is an acceptable thing to do?

The copies were sealed in the U.S. to prevent scroungers doing this.

You realise you have now flooded the gates to people knowing about it now and will probably help with people doing this...

Either way, some of us have morals, others don't. Be happy knowing you are one that does.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.

I think most people doing it would assume the code wasn't unique and perhaps not consider that a later buyer would miss out. Still, some would just happily take it.

I wouldn't do it, it's just not fair on the guy that buys the magazine.

He wouldn't like it if it happened to him, I'm a firm believer of treating people like you want to be treated yourself.

I don't mind 'cheating' to get something, but that's if it's not taking it away from someone else.

I don't even buy class upgrades for BF3 in order to get better guns, much rather earn them through playing the damn game so no, I wouldn't do this either.

I wouldn't I'd just buy it..I don't see the point of stuff like that, it is stealing, he may as well have stolen the magazine and had done with it.

I wouldn't do it (I have a subscription anyway) though as far as I'm aware Future are pretty good at replacing codes that have been taken this way. There's a mailing address on the page to send a photo to if your code doesn't work.
