Would you get rid of the person in the background?

I'm currently putting together another Demo album and getting our Wedding portfolio updated. This shot is actually from my wedding taken by my business partner.
We do aim to lean over to the journalistic kind of style as opposed to the more planned/set up, traditional wedding photos.

For me, I'd leave the wedding organiser in the shot opening up the pod for us. She was there on the day, we were walking down the steps to go and sit in the pod. She's part of the day and photo as far as I'm concerned. It's the same principle as taking a photo of the bride getting ready in her room and a River Island or Next bag of clothes being on the bed or floor.

However, the wife totally disagrees as she likes everything to be perfect.

If the woman was just walking around in the background I would probably think about editing her out as she has no purpose being there and it doesn't tell a story.

Here's the photo, be interesting to see what you guys think :

I'm kind of unsure now. It's not one of my favourite shots in the album and now the doubts in my mind. The only reason its cropped so heavily is because of the album size. I have got a reserve page to go in instead but just wanted to get some different opinions on this. Ive had about 10 so far and at work its pretty much split 50/50.

I agree on the photo having purpose as it gives something to be walking towards.

No thats fine. It's certainly not an album must have. I have a replacement page ready to go in I was just trying to get a nice flow from the previous page and this stage of the day fitted in well.

I only asked because out of the whole 40 pages in the album this was the only shot that seemed to cause such a split to everybody I asked and found it quite interesting.

Oh its, certainly not a print. It was part of a sequence of 3-4 pages so not a vital or killer shot by any means.

I don't really know, its just a pod with some seats inside. Didn't particularly like it and you can't really get any good shots inside so not sure of its purpose.

It will have been shot on a 5D mkII with 24-70L at a guess, but I just saved for web in photoshop at 30% quality so that will be why it looks like it does.

I didn't take the photo, and don't have the raw files with me at the moment. It was shot in raw, then I've converted to save for web and low quality jpegs to arrange the album together as a rough draft before I designed it properly to be sent off to Loxley.

Its been replaced in the album now anyway at the final design stages, thanks for your help/input :)
