Would you go to a theme park on your own?

I love fast / 'scary' rides like roller coasters etc.

I go to them with my family sometimes but, apart from their company of course :'), it's generally an awful experience at the weekend / in school holidays for all the obvious reasons, i.e. queues, children constantly complaining or asking for things, and general reluctance to go on decent rides.

Therefore I'm thinking about going to Alton Towers for a day on my own to scratch the itch and rinse loads of rides, as it should be really quiet on a random day in the middle of the week in school term.

I'm 42 FML and friends are all likely to be working and unlikely to take a day off for this (although I haven't asked and not sure I want to anyway).

Sad?

Had a fantastic time! Spoke to loads of people that definitely wouldn't have approached me if I was with family etc.

Walking as fast as I like, going on whatever rides I like, as many times as I like.

Smiler and Oblivion were brilliant. Thirteen was good as I didn't know about the 'surprise'.

Would recommend.
