When is a junior role is it correct to identify as a junior engineer?
Should i title my email footer as junior mechanical engineer and introduce myself as a junior face to face or just a mechanical engineer?

For me it doesn't bother me to know my place but is the title as well as the position entry level?

I would put the full job title in your e-mail signature. It's useful to others, because it gives them an idea of how experienced you are.

Introductions, just say mechanical engineer. It's too long to say the full title so wouldn't sound right, and also, if they're talking to you, they'll probably find out in the rest of the conversation.

It's a good question, I have the same question before you can class yourself as a senior engineer/developer?

I've seen people in my work who've marked themselves as a senior engineer and I'm sat there thinking hang on I'm sure you only graduated from uni 6 months ago.

Thank you for the help. As stated it doesn't bother me to show who I am if anything I would rather come under my job position than people have expectations that I'm better than I am I just didn't want to look silly if nobody puts it in their email etc.

If that's your title just use it. I've been graduate mechanical engineer & mechanical engineer

Will still probably be a mechanical engineer when chartered (if I manage that soon...). I won't start making new inflated titles, particularly if the company isn't paying me for it :D

It's a fairly broad term as I've seen just "mechanical or electrical engineer" s with 20 years experience
