Would you just throw this faulty card in the bin?

Just discovered the 8800GTS I ws going to sell anway (as I've upgraded) is actually faulty! When you boot up into windows you get vertical lines down the screen, and then on the desktop things look normal for a bit until more horizontal and vertical strirations appear - then sometimes the screen blacks out altogther and the system hangs (new card works fine)

So............ it there any market out there at all for a faulty card? Or is it not worth the hassle of repair / cheap sale, and you really might as well bin it?

What would you do?

I take it this card is no longer under warranty? Most nv partners offer 2 or more years warranty. From experience there are people around that refurbish cards as for my old dell i bought a refurb 9800 pro for it 3 years ago. So someone will take it off your hands for a small fee i guess.

I sold a faulty 7600GS, I believe the purchaser RMA'd it.

As long as you advertise it as faulty and price it accordingly, why throw it in the bin?

Somebody will take it off your hands.

i've got 2x 6600gt's at home, they were great cards, why the damn did they both break in the same week!

-which was about 1 month over the warranty period for both :(

now i buy EVGA, for the 10 year warranty :)

1 year warranty is just too risky for any expensive electronics purchase.

3 years is the minimum I accept, unless I'm planning to resell sooner. Funnily enough, that only usually applies to graphics cards! :p
