Today, I have noticed a few pictures of a Liberty Walk 458 doing the rounds on facebook.

Liberty Walk 458

I am a massive fan of RWB Porsches as the aesthetic to me emphasises the looks of the car to almost caricature levels.

is there a point where it becomes bad taste to modify exotic cars?

what's your take on modifications to supercars?

No I would not.

It's a crime against humanity. I mean just look at some of the Arab ones. Oh and those Ferrari's are awful too.

Yes, but only for performance and minor aesthetics.

Like changing OEM parts for real carbon bits but with the same stock design for a subtle difference.

I will use the Aventador as an example.

I would quite happily have the engine ripped out and built up with billet parts and a turbo kit :D

But some garish body kit and aftermarket wheels is just wrong in my opinion.

Don't hotlink images

Making an "exotic" look like something from TFATF is sickening...

Hi there

Looks wise - NEVER!
Its a reason I've not touched the 911, the manufacturers typically get it so right. Ferrari, Lambo or even down to specifics Audi R8 or Nissan GTR, I'd not touch the way they look.

Power / Handling / Brakes wise, then yes of course because things can normally always be improved to suit a particular owners requirements.

One can never have enough power. ;)

God I weep for those ruined Ferraris :( :(. Lol from the rear photo you can actually see how it's riding on only the inner corners of the tyres due to the stupid camber. Arrrghhhh!!! :(

They did it right in the 80s though - some awesome creations in here :)...

I was about to say no, however the 458 in the OP would be the exception. It looks like a GT2/GT3 car for the road

Things like the Tron Lamborghini, or chromed Veyron are just vulgar.

I would have absolutely no problem with an Underground Racing Audi R8 V10 Twin Turbo.

That to me is modding, not stick on carbon, bigger wheels etc.

Have a look at Gulzar's LP640 on PH; thats enough to shock a lot of people.

Love RWB Porsche cars.

I like the flared arches and I like the visible studs on the arches. To me it apes GT racers of old.

I like those LB 458s.

Taste is a matter of opinion. The chromed cars of the middle east are horrific.

95% of supercars, No.

NSX, yes.*

*Can of worms, is the NSX even a supercar?

Good enough for senna good enough for me.
New
Sportscar
Xperimental
Is apparently what it stood for with the original

but Ferrari , Lamborghini , Porsche etc probably sold there cars as sports cars to? and the media named them super cars?

yes the NSX is a supercar.

does anyone share my opinion that the 458 i posted in the OP is nice, but not something i could do if i actually owned a 458.

totally agree with the Turbo Gallardo comment, that looks like all of the fun that you can possibly have.

also, i see mentioned about modding a GTR. i dont consider a GTR to be a supercar, and feel that the ethos behind GTRs has always been to push boundaries.

Ben Sopra GTR for example to me looks superb and would compliment a heavily tuned GTR immensely.
