Would you (moral question)

The real question is, if you accidently damaged a parked car so that there was little aesthetic damage but with a potential huge repair cost, would you leave a note?

I did - I'm just too nice *sob*

Karma may be nice to you.

It's clearly theft, as they have dishonestly appropriated someone else's property with an intent to permanently deprive them of it.

To be honest, I'm just baffled as to why they're being allowed to keep half of it.

if you hand it in can you imagine the amount of people who would claim it lol.

I would keep it lol. 30 grand woohoo!

If i found someones ticket i might ring them from a payphone and demand a written letter be left somewhere stating i would get X amount of money. If not then the ticket is gonna be burnt

I would keep it, claim it and if they went after me I would tell them where to put it.

Or spend half on a good lawyer and at least walk away with 15k :D

No proof of ownership on the ticket so /shrug.

tbh, if it was on the floor and not obvious whose it was then I would certainly consider keeping it.
If I saw someone drop it, I would hand it back, but as has already been said, if it is just blowing around outside, why not keep it?

If i had found it on the floor in the street, without no-way of knowing who's it was, I would keep it...I think anyone would, greed would also take over and play a part, but I think a lot would keep it...

I haven't got time to read all through the thread but even the couples Solicitor said they were in the wrong and the saying 'Finders keepers losers weepers' is a load of bull and it's theft.

If I lost my ticket I could easily prove that I have had the same numbers from day one of the lottery like most people have and it must have been the same for the woman who lost it.

I was originally on the side of 'finders keepers' but then I thought about what if I left a briefcase with £1000 in it or I left my Les Paul on a pub car park - would I expect to get them back? - of course I would.
