Here is my full system that am going to buy, am ready to push the "go to checkout" just wanted to know if I was missing anything? or if anything needs changing? or I am finally ready to press the big red button?

Going to be used purely for gaming, design/development (photoshop, maya, flash, sql server etc) and video

updated spec alteration found here

Was hoping to keep it more closer to the £1000 mark but ended up being £1500

Thanks All ;)

Ditch the overpriced 5850 for the Sapphire one. £252 is ridiculous for a 5850. You can get AVP for £18 and the card is'nt even a overclocked version. Another £40 buys you a 5870 elsewhere.

Can you squeeze in an SSD in placement of the velocicraptor? Just FYI, I have 5 failed velocicraptors in my drawer next to me, they all failed within 12 months ;)

Or are you at max budget?

Some may disagree but what I'd do is...

lose the gaming headset
replace the 5850 for the Sapphire one as said above
lose the Velociraptor

Add an Intel 80Gb SSD

My vote here too.

I'd also say that that's an awful lot of money for a 22" screen.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions guys, after listening to everything that was said here is my revised spec:

Should I now click the big red buttom? or is more tweaks needed?

I have to say almost £200 for a 80gb SSD did hurt, but I have put it in since a lot of you recommended it.

This spec is actually cheaper :p

Thanks once again!!!

As you say, overall it's actually cheaper. You could always drop to the 40Gb Intel drive - while you will take a performance hit compared to the 80Gb, it will still be miles ahead of the raptor.

You can't go far wrong with the rest.

The only other thought I've had is what is the thermal compound that comes with the Fenrir like? I don't know anything about them so I don't know if you might want to spend a few quid on some aftermarket paste or not.

Now, if you just click the red button, I'll email you my address so you can sort out delivery :D

I can definitely invest in some Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound its only £6.99.

Maybe wait a few days for the i7 930?? Due out on the 28th Feb I believe.

Is it worth waiting for? don't really know much abour the 930??

Either way looks like am almost there :D

Ditch the monitor and get the Benq LED 24 inch, which will suit that graphics card better.£152.00

Ditch the Velociraptor, and get the Sammsung F3 1 Tera £66.00, perhaps get two for less price then you would have paid...

Ditch the Logitech 210 Speakers, they have no bass control, turn them up and you shake the room to, not good if you live with parents or flat...Creative T10'S.?

Wait one month, ATI 5850 will drop in price as Nvidia release their new tech, get a cheap placeholder card until then, say ATI 5450.

That way you get bigger screen, more storage capacity, and better audio..cheaper.

Oh the Ausus P6T-se same price, good motherboard.

You could save another £30 by changing the mouse to the excellent Logitech MX518. You could save even more by swapping to a i5 rig if the main use is gaming.
