I'm a picky so and so, but just want to hear other peoples thoughts. Luckily I bought it from the rainforest so have no issues if I want to return it for another one

The thing is, most have a bit of bleed, and the next one could be even worse. That, and the fact all the boxes have been put away and I can't really be bothered.

Would you be ok with this....

If the middle ball of light wasn't there, it would be perfect!

Wouldnt bother me, but I've never seen light bleed in the centre of a set, only edges.

It's definitely not some sort of local LED dimming/brightening setting is it?

It surprised me as well

I've had the backlight and brightness settings from right at the top, to right down at the bottom. Makes zero difference to the bleed. You can still see it.

Whats it like when playing a dark scene on a movie or game?

Difficult to say what I would do, however if it was obvious when playing the above then I would send it back and get a different model.

I've seen that before on this forum it was a damaged screen. Pressure had been applied to the centre of the screen causing it to have bowed in the middle slightly. IIRC it was caused by the courier.

Get something like a long straight edge and place it horizontal across the patch in the middle and see if you can see a gap where the bleed is between the screen and the straight edge. Either that or do something a bit crazy like put the monitor flat on its back then put a marble or round object on the screen and see if it rolls to the middle or away to the edge.
