Would you step up?

Late Jan I picked up a cheap eVGA 8800GTX ACS3 card from this very site (626 core, 2000 mem), thinking that when the 9800GTX came out I could step up. I timed my run perfectly - the card came out within the 90 day period, but unfortunately it's not the twice as fast beast a lot of people were hoping for at the time I bought the 8800GTX.

I can step up my OEM card to the retail 9800GTX for £50-ish plus whatever the postage costs might be. I game at 1650x1080 so I'm hoping memory bandwidth won't be a problem. I've seen the reviews and the difference is fairly marginal, but is it worth the cash and the hassle of being without a card for a couple of weeks? The ACS3 card looks the nuts as well, if you're into that sort of thing...

At that resolution I don't think you'll see a worthwhile improvement for the money. 8800GTXs and 9800GTXs retail for a very similar price, but if you like to upgrade a lot then the 9800 should hold it's value better.

Pointless upgrade unless you HAVE to have all the latest hardware for what ever reason.Same goes for the GTS wait for the true next gen.If you had a 1900xt/etc i would say go for it but with what you have a GTX just no point. And the GX2 is just to much $$$ if you ask me its looking better now the price's have droped alittle but still would not change my x2 for it (price being the mane factor)
