Was just driving my parents down to the bingo when a kid ran across the road at the traffic lights say no more than 5 or 6 years old and then tripped and face planted on path.
Now I was going to jump out and make sure the wee lass was okay as she looked pretty scraped and was howling and it would be a chance to use that first aid kit i bought 5 years ago :p but my parents told me to drive on as who knows what people might think that your a child molester etc.

Got me thinking if I was on my own or you where on your own would you have stopped and helped?

personally I think its shocking that you cant in this day and age stop to help a kid without someone thinking your a damn fiddler.

sad world :(

Why would people think that if they are hurt?
Fair enough if you just got out and went for her for no reason..

Probably shout out of window if they were alright, if they said yes then drive away.

Sod that you get out and help them

I gave a little black girl a pound in a shop the other day cos she was short a few pence, next thing i got the mum giving me grief, anyway i ****ed her off.

Dont put me off help the kids its when they grow up you ignore them

That's what I mean you cant do anything these days without someone thinking you have an ulterior motive.

All that stupid **** Esther Rantzen's fault that all men are paedos now.

i have a disclosure certificate that says otherwise :)

i'm officially not a fiddler of the kiddies, therfore i could have stopped to help. and put that basic first aid course to good use :)

Wasn't there a thread on here not long ago about someone's family member shouting at a security guard and calling him a peado because he put a plaster on the leg of their young relative?

Ignore your parents TBH. Just as I was off out one time last year, a girl was riding her bike and giving her mate a backy. The girl riding tried steering up a dropped kerb, and somehow ended up missing it and steering into the raised kerb. They went straight over the bars, with the girl in front properly copping it when her mate landed on her. She was bawling her eyes out, so over I went and asked if I could help/call someone (they were just about okay). Eventually, they got up and went limping on their way with bloody knees, but I'm glad I asked as at least I knew they were okay.

i wouldnt no one can be near kids without beeing a pedo these days even when they are your own...

take my lad to the park fairly often and get some people looking at me like im about to molest him .....

Very sad to be honest, I probably wouldn't help any child these days incase of said reaction.

Yes, without question. :)

Fair enough if your in work clothes, but the general public tend to have reservations these days.

I've noticed this, also noticed more dads seeming stand offish in the park when with their kids. It's terrible really :(

You cant take a camera out at a school sports day... so touching a young girls leg?

NTY id rather run her over and be arrested for that than be arrested for touching kids.

Exactly - and in G Town I'd have left the muppet bleeding on the side of the road as I drove by rather than run the risk of getting my car jacked! ;)

Seriously though - Yeah I probably would have let her be, if she's screaming out then you know there's nothing seriously wrong with her!
