Would you upgrade this computer?

I bought a new computer at just the wrong time. It was before AMD dominated the CPU market so I'm wondering if I should upgrade to a Threadripper 3000 series computer or not?

My current specs are as follows:

Intel i9 7900X @ 4.4Ghz
64GB RAM
1TB NVMe SSD
512GB SSD
4TB HDD
1080Ti GPU

I'm looking for some advice from fellow forum members on this question. A lot of the work I do requires a lot of CPU cores (running multiple virtual machines at the same time) so I'd certainly see a benefit from that side of things with Threadripper but I'm not sure if I'd see an improvement in things like games.

CPU-wise your gaming will definitely benefit from a Threadripper or Epyc CPU in that you'll be able to dedicate more cores to your game while your VMs are doing useful work. You just need to do this sufficiently often to justify the expense.
