My Wow account was hacked yesterday, have no idea how this happened, ive only ever logged in from home.

Stole over 2000g, stole all the armour off my back, my weapons, even stole my bags.

3 characters all left just in underpants.
 
Ask a gm to trace what's happened, if you're lucky they might refund you. As in your equipment. Change your password ASAP aswell.
 
Find it hard to believe that this was an actual hack, more like your password was too simple. But yes talk to GM's no idea what their policy is to such incidents.
 
gms should be able to track you lat mails and see who stuff went to, they should get u all your gear back, dont no about the gold tho
 
I think stuff like this is down to trusting (so called) friends/guild memebers with account details.
 
My colleague at work had this happen, he thinks it was because he'd bought gold months before off a dodge chinese farming site, and despite changing his password they managed to hack it. He was adament there was no key logger etc on his machine but who's to know.

Possibly a key logger! have u got a virus scanner? do u use fire fox? if not that could be why!
Did u look at some dodgy .jpg on the wow forums?

You might wanna cheak online bank and email, cus if your typing that in the ******** will get that too!

My account was hacked (I say hacked because no one had my account details, my computer was pretty locked down and password was strong) about a year ago, from me logging in to see my character stripped it took about two weeks to get my account back to me fully restored with all items and tradeskills. Saying that though after getting my account back I quit the game for about three months because it annoyed me that much.

Raise a petition to say your accounts been accessed and wiped and they'll quickly lock the account out and start the investigation/restore, just make sure you've either got the CD-keys or a passport picture you can send them.
 
Fill out a hack form on their web site. As soon as you let em know, the account is locked until they sort it. They will refund most stuff, some stuff might be missed, so you need to keep hounding them if they do miss it.

It took them 6 weeks to sort my bro's when it happened to him. Yes he had to pay subs for the 6 weeks too. It was the keylogger exploit related to the flash movies a couple of months ago so I guess they had loads to sort at the time.

Get yourself a Blizzard Authenticator. I have one and it makes it impossible for anyone to hack your username and password to access your account.

Well, more accurately it makes the username and password irrelevant for logging in.
