There was an addon thread a while back and Acemod/2 was the most popular but as I haven;t used any before how do you install it ??

I have downloaded cartographer and put it in the AddOns folder and checked it is enabled in the game but its the Updater that concerns me. I downloaded it and running it just gives me -

The following error occurred attempting to install 'C:\WowAceUpdater.application':
"The system cannot find the file specified. "

Anyone shed any light and also recommend a few addons for a beginner to them? :)

Basically you'll need the Ace libraries to use any Ace addons.
I'd also recommend DeuceCommander to help you keep track of them.

Make sure you have the .net framework installed to the latest version. Windows Update > Custom Installation should make that available.

Also ensure you have the latest version of the WowAceUpdater - http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=178751

Then it's just a case of Running the updater, selecting a few of the addons you want to test out and then press F4 then F12. If you just want to update your currently installed ones, then press F10.

Some mods i highly recommend:

Pitbull
AutoBar
BanzaiAlert
BigWigs
Fizzle
Fubar
MrPlow
Ora2
PlayerMenu
Skinner
Squeenix
Xloot
Xlootmaster
Quartz

The updater was the key :D

Looks like the file I was getting was incomplete, the link you supplied works great.

I'm trying out the AddOns, Pitbull I semi like so far but the bar for my minion is rather large. I'll try tweaking around the settings to see how it looks :)

Get the addon NIAGARA.

It's basically a frontend for all your Ace2 Addons. Really helps when configuring those which do not come with a prebuilt GUI.

As for configuring your Pitbull, Holding Ctrl or shift (can't remember) and then right clicking the unit frame u want to modify will bring up a Menu. Then u can goto OTHER > Size > Scale and change it to your specifications.

Other good addon is SHAREDMEDIA

Allows you to add custom fonts, textures and then have them cross referanced with other addons so you can choose them in your designs. Nice font is called TEEN for unit frames.

Final recommendation is CLEARFONT2
