WOW Advice

RUNAWAY WHILE YOU STILL CAN BEFORE IT EATS YOUR SOUL!!!!!!!

lol, that could have been just sarcasm. :P

Alliance, Kazzak.
I'm just taking another break from WoW since 3.2.2 - bored after too much t9, although I'd probably go back sometime this year to collect t10 before Cataclysm starts.

I stopped playing WoW after 1.12.1 because I didn't like the changes.
Definitely addictive, but so is any game if you enjoy it!
The problem for me, is it just takes SOO LONG to level. I got bored after a while, had a mate who aided me financially on the game and helped me make a 49 Shaman Twink and I just played in the battlegrounds all day every day. Which is why when TBC came out and no one cared about low level PvP any more, I didn't see the point in continuing.

But I still find the game magical to play. The ambience, the music... its just fantastic. Even if the graphics are pretty cartoony. Elwynn Forest and Westfall are my favourite places to go :P

Good luck with finding a nice guild though. I had my own one on Magtheridon called Unspoken. About 4 of the top level members in the guild ended up in Nihilum, and still talk to a couple of them to this day some 2/3 years on!

I got to level 27 I think and got very bored as it got harder to level so stopped. Think I will try a different one from mage this time to stop the boredom.

Melee classes are much easier to level I find.

I found Shamans set up for Melee (Enhance talent) were very VERY effective, especially in PvP.

I did struggle and got bored with Paladin after 35 though.

A top player can get effective use out of any class really. Just play each class to like level 11 or 12 (Which takes the best part of an hour / hour and a half) and see which one you like the feel of best.

Doomhammer = Pve = FAIL

Alliance = Fail

Stupid letters in yer name = Fail

Pop over to http://theunitguild.com/ and make an App .. Lot of Ocuk rerollers and bunch of nice lads . pvp horde just as it should be .

Persil

Do you have difficulty making friends and socialising? :D

Wow is a great game where players of such differing opinions of how things should be done can all play and argue together! So i shall add my contrasting opinions below :p

PVP= Fail... emo kids yelling "pwned" all the time... the only pvp worth playing is 1vs1 or arena teams, the rest is a pointless gank fest.. boring and predictable.

Horde= Fail.... same kids usually, claiming that only "evil are cool" etc etc

Doomhammer is actually one of the nicest servers in our battlegroup for maturity and general all round normalness... just play some from al akir and you will see what i mean.

Oh and just because you get a thrill from being ganked mercilessly on a pvp server doesnt mean we all do. Oddly enough thats why they have different types of servers :p

I suggest the OP tries a pve and a pvp server and see which he likes the feel of more.

As for the "stupid letters in yer name" thats a good way of not being bombarded by whispers all day selling gold, a lot dont even know you can shift click a name instead of typing it. ( plus trying to find an unclaimed name that makes any remote sense on doomhammer is pretty much impossible now ) :p

oh and DOWN WITH THE HORDE! bunch of dirty freaks!

So youve just built/brought a brand new PC and your going to christen it with WoW? Something that looked poor 5 years ago? If you want an MMO player lotro.

It's probably one of the most beautiful PC games I’ve played. The style, atmosphere, detail etc and the fact it can run on lower end PC’s all confirm its greatness for me.

Played it on-off for a over 2008/09 and loved it. Got a Shaman at Lvl.71 and in the end simply too many other games I want to play at the moment. Might go back for a bit someday. Enjoy!

Ooh Generic WoW bashing as usual..

Many classic games still look decent today, the original Unreal Tournament for example.

WoW may be 5 or so years old but that doesn't take anything from the game. It is absolutly fantasic and personally the best MMO I have played even with all its flaws I still enjoyed it very much (Have retired from it for now).

The unit guild would definatly be the best place to go, the GM (who I have had my fair few arguments with on here) appears to be doing quite well, they (to my current knowledge) will take on any casual OcUKer member without an app, all you have to do is message one of the officers to get an invite.

To be honest It would probably be a great guild to start with since they have a progressive raid group too so you get the best of both mixes of new players and veterans who can help you along the way.

Funny, I've been playing the Unreal games recently since they cropped up on a Steam deal for the whole pack, and the original tournament looks crap. 2004's aged well, though.

Funny that, I truly expected the OcUK community to agree with me.

All I'll say about this game is. What God gives with one hand he takes with the other.

A bit crytic but those who played it (too much) will understand.
