WOW and Vista64

Hi,

Everytime i try to patch WOW on Vista Ultimate 64bit i get an error saying it cant build temporary file.

has anyone got these two working together?

basically it patches the game then says it cannot make wow.inf.temporary

Is the account you're logged in as an administrator?

aah, no, however other apps have installed fine.

Make it admin just in case Wow is trying to create a temp file in a folder that requires admin access or something.

most games do actually say you need to be admin to install things... I installed vista the other day and forgot to delete WOW of me other hard drive. Still works aswell so im happy

Not necessarily. They've changed vista to make most day to day things doable by non admin accounts, so that everyone doesn't automatically make their account an admin, which makes windows easier to hack.

any idea how i make my own personal account with full admin rights, i would assume i would need to login as a local admin.

From memory, the users section in control panel actually has a button that says 'Make this user an administrator' or something like that.

Can't you just right click the icon to start WoW and select "Run as Administrator"?
