Now that S1 Arena items are easy to get via BG are most people farming BG to get there S1 set? I am a bit curious to what new people have done once they hit level 70.

Before S1 was easy to get most players ran instances, got blues and then progressed into Karazhan and so on.

Are people doing BG and then going straight into Kara and above? It sort of makes me think that by doing it this way your not getting much PvE experience before getting involved with raiding.

A lot will be experienced gamers here, what are your thoughts?

I have bought the EU version of WoW a few wks ago and am leveling at the moment, once I hit 70 I am thinking of just farming BG since the instances dont give me anything as close as good from BG.

People farming for S1 gear and having it all within a week or two of being 70 drive me absolutely mad as PvP gear to me seems ridiculously overpowered. I'm probably just jealous since I don't ever PvP and feel I have to work for mind. Lots of people are just equipping in S1 and jumping into Kara or higher though. Classes like Rogues\Warriors etc can PvE in SSC\TK in their PvP gear if they want so a lot of people do tend to skip the instance grind at 70.

I personally would rather hit 70, get any craftables available, run a couple of level 70 instances to try and grab some gear then jump straight into Karazhan. The gear you can get from there if you run it enough is enough to see you well into SSC\TK.

Oh wow I did not know people are getting fully geared in 1 week.

I agree with your personal preference. It just looks really unbalanced right now. Bliz need to change items or add something similar/easy to attain via PvE rather than just PvP for your items.

If you remember just before TBC the PvP system was changed to points so everyone could gear in purples before people jumped into Outland. That was a good move but I feel that Bliz should have put the old system back to how it was or make the system better based on the original concept.

Well as a healer it doesn't bother me as much as it could as the PvP healer stuff is gimped on regen and more geared to survival. Arms\Fury warriors are on a winner though as their gear is more transferrable to PvE.

What I meant by geared up within a week though, was that while levelling 60-70 people were spending the weekends in whichever BG was giving double honour. So level during the week, and just honour farm at weekends.

Any half-decent raiding guild will inspect you and just laugh at the amount of resilience your newly-gained epics have if you farm for a whole set. PvP gear is pretty useless for PvE. Only the weapons are really considered to be good regardless, as Murf said the PvP items are catered towards surviving rather than damage/power.

As Skyboat has said, You need 2 sets of gear (if you aren't a hybrid :p) One for PvP, one for PvE, they really don't mix well, Weapons aside.

I dont play anymore but arena gear was not ideal for PVE for rogues due to the stats not having +hit. I did n't use BG gear for kara or SSC apart from the weapons. Those were good.
