WoW: BC Midnight sales

Anyone know where there are shops opening at midnight to sell The Burning Crusade?

I read on www.wow-europe.com that some would be but havent heard of any yet.

Should be quite an event in the first 24 hours of the game opening. Can't wait myself

Id say at midnight the servers will die and everyone will experience huge amounts of lag.

Can you imagine how many people will try to log on? I'd say wait a few days

Maybe the stores will sell it the minute its out, but the servers wont be up.

You havent read the wow europe website have you? There is a big online event of the opening at 12:00 midnight on the 16th.

Seems strange to announce that they will be selling at midnight on the 16th and not have the servers up, though in my opinion the servers will be up and down for a week going by the last big patch

Midnight will probably be a good time to get on - most people won't buy at midnight. TBC comes out on a Tuesday (?), so the busiest time I reckon will be around 4 o'clock (UK time) when all the euro school kids start arriving home from school to find their pre-orders have arrived. Thats when the account website and game servers will start to buckle.

TBH I wouldn't touch the game/servers for a couple of days. The Level 60-65 areas (of which there are 2, IIRC) will be jammed full of people trying to level and see the sights. Spawn camping ahoy!

I expect "unplanned maintenance" and lots of server downtime too.

To be honest they've patched WoW a lot before the release of this and I don't see the servers ******* up THAT much, although you never know.

They will, big time

Look at AQ Gate openining and how the servers died over and over and over again, for god damn ages, just tht many people stood around Dark Portal will crash the servers too.

Secondly, look at Cross BG's, servers took a good week to be sorted, and that was with extensive beta'ing.

And now this will die even worse >< !

I'm not so sure whether or the servers will go down a lot. People will be filtering into their respective servers from 12am onwards and there will be a steady stream. Not everyone will have the game at 12am so the most eager will be through first, and then those who wake up... Basically people will be going through in "clumps" and will then disperse. A lot of people will also be doing instances, which are on a totally separate server.
