WoW best realm/server

probably one of the new ones that will be listed as recommended. theres more likely to be other new players you can quest with as opposed to rerollers who will play by themselves and call you a noob.

uhhh if u know anyone who is playing go on their servers :) one thing i hated in wow was being alone, cos i started with one group of friends, but then another group started playing on a different servers and both groups played on different servers and swapped servers a few time, i couldnt keep track so i ended up sticking on one with liek 1 person i knew and played till lvl 70 then gave up.

but now im back in on a different realm with one real life friend (i know wow people with friends xP madness) and got straight into their guild and everyone is really helpful and i love it :D

but still if ya going in blind then probably need to make some educated decisions such as:
1)english/german/french/russian.... which server language... ill leave that up to you :P

2)pvp/rp/rppvp/normal

right this might affect your gameplay experience a little bit. lets start with the easy bit...
rp.... this means its a role play server where people tend to work more in groups and stay "in character" to act out their tasks, can be a good laugh but sometimes i found a bit too much talking.... or everone is in the goldshire inn trying to get jiggy o.O

pvp.... this is a serever where a lot more pvp encounters are likely, this is because of contested territories. this is basically more areas of the map(whole areas rather than being arenas or citys) where if you enter, you will be flagged pvp and are open to attack and be attacked at any time with in these areas. this can be a right hoot :) as it tries to get everyone more involved in defending places buttt...... can be a major pain in the behind if a lvl 80 keeps ganking you at lvl 15 as ur just trying to complete a rubbish quest x|!!!

rppvp... this is basically a combination of the two above factors, people pretending they are orcs and a lot more pvp oppertunities.

normal... how do you define normal? what is normal?the accepted standard in the social environment? something like that.... but for here it's where a lot of people join up as well its "normal" play xP basically pvp is usually raids on cities or in areanas. if you are outside these areas you need to switch on ya pvp flag to be able to attack or be attacked, which is nice for levelling when you see 40 or so alliance charging into org and ur lvl 8 and outside killing boars hehe :) still a bit of roleplaying but barely any from what ive seen.

so theres that bit :) rp if ya want to be the elf, pvp if ya want to greif lower lvls xP and normal if ya just want to get on and play hehe

3) actual server.... right now after ya made that decision its time to pick a realm, like i said before, you have any friends playing wow, join them as no doubt they will chuck ya lots of gold and help boost ya up through the game, this is a lot more fun then trying to to everything yaself as i found waiting for groups to do things can be a pain in the ***

if ya just going in alone i would recommend a "recommended" server on the server list. these are realms that dont have a massively high population already and have room to expand and develop more and are usually not full of 10000000 lvl 80's and 1 lvl 1 but more likely to be a lot of lower levels. and for this reason there will more likely guild that are recruiting low levels and all grinding up the levels rather than end game guilds which dont let anyone in under lvl 70 or higher xP

horde or alliance? right i dont know if you have anty preference already but i think its generally easier to start as alliance if ya have no idea what's going on. ive played as both and when you play as one you hate the other xP when i was alliance i hated the horde, now on a different server im the horde and i despise the alliance hehe but personally im having a lot more fun being horde.

right then, if ya have decided a server its time to get a good guild and build up ya mates :D friends=groups=progress=fun :)

there are threads on this forum with the ocuk members character names and realms so i would have a little look at that if i were you :)

right i think that about ends my post xP sorry if ive just gone off on one there xD but i hope this will help you make a choice that will lead to a happy gaming experience :)

p.s. for the horde!!!

Ive tried a few realms before leveling a character past 20 and i landed on "Darkspear", full of really nice people and a lot of awesome guilds, got my resto druid at 80 and my DK at 80 with some help from a lot of friends i made, best realm IMO and its also Classed as "normal" so its not RP, RPPVP or PVP so you just get what i like to call, the "normal" people :P

Yeah i also play a normal server and would recomend them over pvp if your starting off because you will just be ganked (killed by higher players over and over again) while trying to lvl up and experience the game.

ornasas

Another recommendation for a PvE server here - PvP servers can be a real pain to level on, and also make farming and doing daily quests a chore even at max level. I recently moved my lvl 80 Shaman from a PvP to a PvE server, and it's nice to now be able to do stuff without being ganked by PvP specced and geared rogues, ret palas and death knights every 10 minutes.
