Guys

Quick question. Has anyone here had any experience with using a Collectors Edition for WoW : TBC to get hold of the ingame pets since WOTLK was released?

Asking as I was trawling through my attic clearing stuff out when leaving home and I have found a sealed copy of the CE. I remember buying 3 when it was released and I used 1 and thought I had already sold both others. Apparently I only sold 1 of them and put the other one away and forgot about it!

Blizzard still have the details listed on their webpage at the below link :

But I dont know if they will still honour this? I have emailed to ask but its been a while and no response. I would ideally like to give the set to a friend as a bit of a birthday present but if he cant use it for the pets on his already TBC/WOTLK activated account I will prob just sell it.

Any help appreciated!

cant answer your questions but i do remember people selling them for £100+ on ebay when they was coming out lol!

I am pretty sure they still honor the pets for the TBC CE. I manged to get a copy of a friend last year who oddly like you found a sealed copy in his bedroom. I sent in all the bits for the pets around july last year.

I recieved both the Whelp and Lurky :D

Yes u can still use did myn a few months ago might take a few weeks to get the pet's there is a post in the eu fourms with the info

Yeah there was a massive mistake with the CE of TBC with the neverwhelp. Basically the code in the box didnt work, or there wasnt a code.. i cant remember.

Anyway in the box is a big cover sheet that shows the contents of the collectors edition. You have to cut a bit of that out, and mail it to blizzard.

This explains it.

As a sign of good will, you will get the whelp and a lurky (pet murloc). The murloc is a ultra rare pet, and far far far better than the dragon. Ebay it if your not fussed.

Well friend decided he isnt interested in the pets as he is not a collector so this will be heading off for sale/ebay.

Thanks for all the help.

As an extra bonus, I have now located my own copy which sadly I did open. Everything is present in the box and sealed bar the mousepad (Used for raiding and destroyed after many months of use) and the items needed for claiming the pets are still valid. So looks like I have 2 sets of Lurky/Netherwelp pets to sell. Not sure how much less the opened one will be worth. Any ideas if the missing mousepad will affect the value or do people only buy these for the pets?

Thanks again for all your help guys. Never would have seen how much they were worht if you hadnt mentioned it!

Shadowman I would still sell it or try and ebay just the pets.
I am a pet collector myself and the rarer the pets the more they're worth.
Try it, with both you could walk away with about £200.

I have them up for sale on forums here currently just incase anyone wanted them before they head to ebay. I thought that as they help came here would only be right to offer them up here first.

I have them up at £225 for the sealed and £200 for the opened as looking on the bay I see them going for £200 for just the 2 pets without all the other items. Unlike ebay though I am slightly more flexible on pricing too :)

Will keep them up here for a bit and then move them to ebay and see if they shift. If not then I havnt really lost anything as I didnt even know I had them a week ago!

If the prices seem far too high by the way please let me know. As I had no interest in the ingame pets I wouldnt know what they were worth (That said I did pay £35 for a rocket chicken but mainly because it exploded from time to time which was good to see during Illidan kills on fraps)
